Park Hill is a council estate and the Europe's largest Grade II* listed structure. The estate has been designed by Jack Lynn and Ivor Smith and influenced by Le Corbusier's Unité d'Habitation in Marseille. The construction began in 1957 and took four years before it was completed in 1961. Currently undergoing a regeneration by Urban Splash, Park Hill is the greatest example of Brutalist architecture in Sheffield.

Materials: Concrete, glass.

Interesting fact: Sheffield Theatres gave an insight into how life at Park Hill changed over the years through the musical Standing at the Sky's Edge using music from, Sheffield born, Richard Hawley to help to tell the story of this unique and iconic building. Following the success of the production, in 2024 the musical has transferred to London's West End. A year earlier, in 2023, Standing at the Sky's Edge has won Laurence Olivier Award for the Best New Musical.
